LEED Support

USGBC’s release of LEED 3.0 places additional emphasis on both reducing a building’s energy use and on verifying that the reductions are real. This will require additional effort on the design team to not only identify an implement useful strategies to reduce energy use but to also to demonstrate that the building is performing to specification. USGBC has added requirements to allow access to a building’s utility bills and to wait for a year of operation before certifying a building.

Building Performance & Measurement

The release of USGBC’s LEED 3.0 places additional emphasis on reducing a building’s energy use and verifying that the reductions are real. More aggressive energy use targets will push the design team to provide more efficient buildings. The desire for performance verification will show that these targets have been met. The new USGBC requirement to provide energy use information will demonstrate that design goals have been achieved.

Energy efficiency can now earn up to19 points and developing a robust measurement & verification plan is worth three points. We can help you create and implement an IPMVP-adherent M&V plan that will satisfy the requirements for Energy & Atmosphere Credit 5.

Energy Audits

Performing an ASHRAE Level I energy audit is a LEED EB prerequisite. As part of this process, we can review your utility bills, validate your Portfolio Manager data, conduct a site visit, and provide recommendations to improve the operation of your facility. If applicable, we can also apply for the Energy Star label for your building.

Measurement & Verification

Third party Measurement & Verification including actual measurements and data logging.
