Data Loggers & Data Analysis

This class introduces the participants to selection and use of data loggers for diagnostic, commissioning, and performance verification purposes. Information on available sensor and data logger types, including applications to HVAC, lighting, and other uses are provided. Sample plan development is discussed. Simple data analysis using data logger software and Microsoft Excel are demonstrated.

* Identify necessary variables to measure for specific applications.
* Select and purchase the appropriate data loggers & sensors to measure the identified variables.
* Deploy and recover data loggers, download, and view data.
* Use collected data to understand system behavior and identify problems.
* Manipulate and graph data and calculated values in Microsoft Excel.
